John 5:30-47
"Missing Jesus"

You can know the Bible, attend church faithfully, and debate deep Bible doctrine—and still miss the very Person the Scriptures point us to: Jesus Christ.

In this message from John 5:30–47, Pastor Tim examines Jesus’ words to religious leaders who studied the Scriptures but refused to believe in Him. Their example reminds us that the purpose of studying the Bible is not merely to know what it says, but to personally know and obey the Christ of whom it speaks. The goal of meeting Christ in His Word isn't information, it is transformation.

In this sermon, we consider four important truths:

- The Witness of John — John the Baptist pointed people to Jesus.

- The Witness of His Works — Jesus’ miracles testified to His identity.

- The Witness of the Scriptures — The Bible unfolds God’s redemptive plan through Jesus Christ.

- The Willful Rejection of Christ — Religious knowledge and the approval of others can become our pursuit rather than Jesus Christ.

Whether you have never trusted Jesus Christ for salvation or have been a Christian for many years, this message challenges you to examine your heart.

Are you simply learning about the Bible, or are you allowing God’s Word to change the way you live?
