What to Expect

We are delighted to have you as a guest to our website and that your interest in our church has led you this far. By now you might be considering a personal visit, but you're still a little unsure of what you can really expect once you arrive. Here's a little information we hope will help answer some of those questions.

What's here for my kids?

Nursery. At every service there are safe, clean, and staffed nurseries for children 3 years old and under. For the infants, mothers will be asked to leave their cell phone on vibrate so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need.

Jr Kids Church at 11:00 am is for kids 4 to 11. This class is fun, friendly, and Bible-centered. It is staffed with friendly, and qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. They will come home singing new songs, quoting verses they have memorized, displaying their crafts, and sharing with you important truths they are learning form the Bible. They will learn things like the importance of obedience, being king, sharing, and even more important truths, like who Jesus is, and the fact that God loves them and made them for a unique purpose.

Kids Club is on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm for children 4 to 11. This club will focus on developing the singing and ministry skills of the next generation. The local church leaders of tomorrow will have fun as they grow and are challenged to put what they learn in the classroom into practice on a practical level. We will have children ministry nights periodically through the year where the children will lead the songs, sing the special music, usher, greet and preach!

What's a morning service like?

Most people first attend the worship service at 11:00 am where they enjoy a warm welcome, inspiring music of soloists, ensembles, instrumentalists and congregational music, and a message from God's Word. The music begins the service and is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Tim. The entire service is a little over one hour in length. Of course, you are invited to arrive early and stay late to enjoy fellowship and some coffee with friends.

How should I dress?

There is no dress code at Centralia Bible Baptist Church for members or guests. We will be delighted to have you as our guest and are happy to receive you however you may be dressed. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday attire". We promote the idea that church is where we meet and worship the Lord, so you will find others here dressed with this thought in mind.

Are there services at other times?

Yes. We also have Sunday evening services (completely different from Sunday morning). Although there are songs and preaching we also have a time for people to give testimonies of what God is doing in their life. Sunday evening service begins at 5:30pm.

We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm for a mid-week Bible study and prayer. If you can't be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you'll visit with us during these other times.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don't invite you to Centralia Bible Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a family of friends, truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

Getting To Know Us

About CBBC

Centralia Bible Baptist is a new church with an exciting future. The ministry began in March of 2007 under the leadership of Pastor Wilder and Olympia Bible Baptist Church. Pastor Tim and his family arrived in April of 2009 and in May of 2010 the church held its charter service!

We are looking forward to what God has in store as the church strives to love the Lord and serve others. Centralia Bible Baptist is an Independent Baptist Church.

What’s in the name Baptist?

This church is a Baptist church by conviction and principle, not by affiliation. This means that we believe the basic Bible teachings for which Baptists have historically stood. As Baptists, we believe the following: the Bible is our sole authority for all matters of faith and practice. The church should be autonomous or self-governing. The believer does not need a priest, other than Jesus Christ, to come boldly to God. Every Christian has equal access to God personally. God's Word gives us two ordinances for the church: baptism and the Lord's supper. Each person is individually responsible for his decision to accept Christ. The believer is eternally secure and cannot lose salvation. There are two biblical offices in the church - pastors and deacons.

What does it mean to be an independent church?

As an independent Baptist church, we are not affiliated with any particular Baptist denomination or ruling body. Because of this we can support our own missionaries, select our own leaders, and support institutions that believe as we believe. In short, our church answers to the headship of Jesus Christ rather than a denominational body. There are currently more than 10,000 independent Baptist churches in America and thousands more throughout the world.

Do you have other questions?

We exist to love God and others, this means we will strive to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you'll feel right at home from the very moment you step in the door! Let us know how we can serve you better, we hope to meet you this Sunday!
